I wish I have a deamon....

The Golden Compass is not as controversial as people say it is. On the contrary, it's a nice movie to be enjoyed with your friends and family.

In the movie, people go around with little animals around them - their deamon, or should I say parts of their soul. It's really cute to see those deamons of the children scampering around, changing shapes at will.

The only thing bad about the movie is that I feel sad to see the deamons disappering into the air when their humans are dead. I pity the animals, not the bad guys... :p

I wonder when is the next installment coming on screen... Can't wait. Now just waiting to get my hands on those three *yummy* books.... ^_^

Twinkle twinkle little star...

Just now, as our Miss(s) Tourism tour the pasar of my dear little town, me, Chai Lian, and Jacky (CL's cousin) went to watch Stardust.

As the ticket is only RM 5 today, that movie is worth every cent!!

Jacinta told me that movie was good, and it's so true! A bit of fantasy, romance, and of course, comedy. The story was beautiful.

A boy seeking for a fallen star to give to his Victoria ended up falling for the star herself. And the star said:"The thing that makes looking down on mankind bearable is love. It's very beautiful.."

Lol, I don't quite remember exactly her words. Alright, I'm blabering now.. I don't even know how to spell the word. :p

My point is, if the stars are as beautiful as Yvine... Would there be any super CUTE guys as stars? Hahaha... :p

One more thing. What do you know, the World Miss Tourism Final is held HERE!! In SIBU!! Of all places!!! Wah... And they had a 'tour' of our market place just now.. Ain't the pretty?

New hair.. :p

This afternoon, I went to CL's house to find her two sisters dragging me to have a haircut. The result is quite... ANNOYING!!

His first 'kaccat' I already know.. DAMN! Why didn't I stop him??

Oh well, no more haircuts for me for the next 6 months..

You don't know how long I had to wait for my hair to grow to it's length, which lasted till 4pm just now...

I wanted to grow my hair long, then he go and cut away all my effort after I told him to cut only a BIT!! And away fly my RM 25...

Where are you my sunshine....

For the last few days that I'm home, it's so cold. Raining everyday... The first day I came back, I was like, why is it so hot here? Then starting Monday, I hardly see the sun anymore...

Being home this time is kinda boring. Most of my friends are not in town, and I really don't know what to do, other than the houseworks my mum kept asking me to do.. :p

Really don't know what to write, so that's all...

Hope you're satisfied (the guy who 'forced' me to write)... Lol...

Happy Mooncake Festival to all :D

Today is a special day. It's the 15 of the 8th month in the lunar calendar. It's what chinese call 'Zhong Qiu Jie' or better known as Mooncake Festival.

Like my birthday, this is the first time that I have my mooncake festival away from home. It's not as bad as it could have turned out. Instead, I think it was quite fun!

Our college organized a mini 'pesta tanglung' or more like a 'majlis tanglung'. We had some performances: tradisional dance, modern dance, Indian dance, a magic show and some singing. And the best part was that all of us get to take a tanglung and walk around the college. Meaning access to guys' territory for us gals and vice versa... lol...

I love it as it gave me a feeling of belonging here. Like we're one big family! It felt nice. This year's MF will never be forgotten.

Wait, there's still one last thing... I saw him again after almost a whole month of not seeing him... Makes me happy!!! WoohOO!!! >_<

爬到一半他累了

問她：" 休息一下好不好?

她突然來了興致

嬌嗔著說不行

他就真的沒有休息

一直爬到她所居住的13 樓

她問他累不累

他說累

比扛包還要累

她知道他說的是真的

她有了一絲感動 !

但他們還是分手了

因為有時候

僅有感動

並不能夠將愛情維持

愛情的本身

除了感動

好像還有太多的瑣碎

城市裡並不缺一個扛包工人

所以他回到鄉下

他偶爾會打電話給她

告訴她他現在種著一些農作物

賺了一點錢

她聽著

淡淡的

那時她已有了新的男友

門當戶對的

可以充門面

協調生活的那種

然後某一天

他有一次打來電話

說他存夠了五千元

這些錢可以在鄉下娶老婆了

她發現

突然間

自己的眼角竟有些濕潤

她新交的男友也是每天接她下班

送她到電梯口

很紳士地道一聲晚安

然後離去

某一天她說：" 背我上去吧

"男友說了聲 "好"

那時電梯停在一樓

男友背起她

飛快地衝進電梯

她伏在男友的背上

與電梯一起爬升

心卻在飛快的下沈……男友嘿嘿笑著

好像對自己這個帶著幽默的小技倆很是滿意

那天

她沒有接受男友照例的吻別

隔天

她打了通電話給他

那他那五千塊錢花出去了嗎？

然後她便發現自己淚流滿面

因為他已花出去了

仍掉了電話

那一刻

她覺得自己正在失去整個世界

幾天後她在電梯口看到他

他的手裡拿著一枚戒指

很高檔

他把戒指揚了揚

說" 五千塊錢"

她開心的哭了…哭得一塌糊塗

她說：" 背我上去？"

他說好

然後背著她一步一步爬著樓梯

途中他累了

說這次給不給休息

她說" 不行不行"

於是他就沈默著

一直爬到了13樓

這時她想

如果一個男人

肯背著一個女人爬最漫長的樓梯

甚至可以不問理由

那麼

這個女人

還有什麼理由拒絕他呢？

她給了他一個長久熱烈的吻 ......

更感人的是.....









這女人一百五十公斤重~~~~~~~

Happy Birthday to me... :D

I'm 20 today!! Yeah!!!

Last year, I still remember my classmates (all the gals) gave me a big bolster. Then, WY, EC, Jac, they all even wanted to buy something 'special' for me.. lol...

Then come this year.

This has gotta be the best birthday ever!!!!

The first celebration came yesterday when I went out with WY, MC, Jonathan they all..

Today, my paras-mates really gave me a wonderful surprise when they started carrying the woks into my room, with all the ingredients for a steamboat!!! WOW!! Everyone sat in my room enjoying the food... Even some seniors come as well...

Special thanks to my dearest roommate, Christine, then to all the others: Sherry, Suki, MunWing, MayLyn, HuiSze, Jazz, ZhiHui, ShwuFang, HuiYee, YingYing and Eileen.

After eating most of the food, we were really stuffed. So we all went on a paras-outing to KIY's Pesta Tanglung to watch Sherry perform a modern dance. Then it's back to my room for the second round of food. This time, Winnie and SzeNee joined us.

Again, they gave me a pleasant surprise by presenting a birthday cake!!! WAHHHHH!!!!! This is the first time that I celebrate my birthday with my friends and at 12 midnight!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then came the birthday wishes... First one to reach me at 12 midnight was Mr WongYieSing. Then his 'wife' MC, then I don't remember the sequence liaw.. Let's see... CL, Howard, Kak Rahmah (senior in Pesta Konvo), Morshi (course-mate), SaySiong, Wani (college-mate + course-mate), KwangYing, my dearest sis, Kelvina, KeanYuen (my direct senior in college), WeiLing (course-mate), and Winnie.

Not to mention the phone calls. Of course, JihLiang called. I thought that he wouldn't remember but he did!! So happy!!!!
Surprisingly, Thamin, my EST classmate called me as well!! Wah.. Today is really special!!!

Ok, back to the food. We couldn't finish all the food so we just dumped them to the boys. Luckily they're there to help us.. Lol.. That JunOnn was like so thankful to us.. Hahaha... He even bowed 90 degrees to us.. Lol..

And the presents... Yesterday MeeAng gave me a little bear. MC gave me a pair of earrings. Just now, Sherry they all gave me two sets of anime DVD!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! And there're more to come from what some of them said.. Lol.. :P

Oh yeah.. My parents are sooo nice!! They gave me some 'angpau' and ask me to treat myself and my friends!! So that means... Secret Recipe tomoro!! YEAH!!!!

Today is a great day. Yesterday was even greater when I received all the nice surprises. I was really touched by all of my friends and my parents and my bro and sis. Yeah, my brother messaged me on friendster to wish me happy birthday.. Lol...

My birthday wish this year... Friends forever for all of us!!! Even though they all think that I should have made a wish to find a guy soon. But then, I think I would prefer having them as my friends forever than just having a guy.. Lol... They don't know my wish and I'm not planning to tell.. Shhh.. :p

The day is still young, still 21 hours to go on my sweet-20... Happy Birthday to me!!

Nice lessons....

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.

During my second month of college, our professor
gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student
and had breezed through the questions until I read
the last one:

"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the
cleaning woman several times. She was tall,
dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name?

I handed in my paper, leaving the last question
blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if
the last question would count toward our quiz grade.

"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers,
you will meet many people. All are significant. They
deserve your attention and care, even if all you do
is smile and say "hello."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her
name was Dorothy.

2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain

One night, at11:30 p.m., an older African American
woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway
trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had
broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally
unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man
took her to safety, helped her get assistance, and
put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his
address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a
knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a
giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A
special note was attached..

It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway
the other night. The rain drenched not only my
clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
husband's bedside just before he passed away... God
bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving
others."

3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those
who serve.


In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less,
a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and
sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in
front of him.

"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.

"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled is hand out of his pocket and
studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.

By now more people were waiting for a table and the
waitress was growing impatient.

"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins.

"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on
the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice
cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress
came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the
table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
were two nickels and five pennies..

You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had
to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if
anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the
king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by
and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the
King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did
anything about getting the stone out of the way.



Then a peasant came along carrying a load of
vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the
peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the
stone to the side of the road. After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. After the
peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed
a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note
from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The
peasant learned what many of us never understand!

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve
our condition.

5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts...

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who
was suffering from a rare & serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood
transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had
miraculously survived the same disease and had
developed the antibodies needed to combat the
illness. The doctor explained the situation to her
little brother, and asked the little boy if he would
be willing to give his blood to his sister.

I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will
save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in
bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did,
seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his
face grew pale and his smile faded.

He looked up at the doctor and asked with a
trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.


Remember... Most importantly..................

Today is a great day!!!

Today, I went to Sg. Wang n Low Yat n Times Square with a few of my best frens!! So happy!!

This year, just one day from now, it'll be my first birthday celebrated away from my family and entirely with all my friends. N today is my first celebration. I hope it's not the only one.. Lol..

Just now we went to Secret Recipe and shared 7 pieces of different cakes among 8 people. It was fun.. hehehe :P

Anyways, just now the people there were WeiYing, MeiChyi, Jonathan, Shin, Step n MeeAng.. n also SaySiong lo.. haha...
From the 7 of them, I already got present from 2.. MeiChyi n MeeAng.. so happy so happy!!!!! haha
Felt like today already my birthday... Lol.. :p

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

Aquaholics?!?

I used to think that you should always drink as much water as you can. Then one day, a friend showed me a newspaper article about a guy who died after drinking too much water. Well, that didn't really did anything to me.. Lol...

Then, today I saw an article on Reader's Digest (February 2007), and THAT really made me think. Am I an aquaholic? Am I drinking too much water? I guess I'll have to show you what I mean...


Are you an aquaholic? If you drink over five litres of water a day and feel irritable when you can't get a glass of H2O, you may have a problem. "Aquaholics do exist," says dietitian Catherine Collins. "There's a very realy psychiatric condition called psychogenic polydipsia. For most, it's sparked when a lifestyle change like cutting out caffeine is made."

Collins explains that typically someone will up their intake of water in the belief that they're "cleansing" their body. "With time, an obsession with drinking water to 'purify' or offset hunger creates potential for harm, especially if combined with a low-salt diet and excessive exercise."

But surely, you can't drink too much water? Well, in fact you can. "Overhydration coupled with a low-salt diet can gradually deplete blood salt levels, initially causing fatigue," she says. "But eventually, low salt levels will impair normal cell function, causing confusion, disorientation and even coma."

Aim to drink around two litres of liquid daily, she says. "The goal is to pass urine three or four times a day. If you're going to the toilet every hour, you're probably drinking too much."

It's been a very very long time since I've upadated here.

Many things happened. I fell in love again. I got an allergy which caused red dots all over my arms and legs. I did many many things that I've wouldn't have done if I was still in Sibu.

Sometime's I'm happy, sometime's I'm gay. But other times I'm down in the valley, and feel really bad for myself.

Sometimes, or once, I found out that meeting someone or seeing his smile would really brighten up my day! His smile is so so so charming that I wonder what toothpaste he's using.

I love a little piece of poem that my friend told me.

Well, it's not exactly a poem but, you know what I mean...

I fell in love with his smile. I really did...

Last week, I went to Midvalley to see ChaiLing who's stopping in KL for an afternoon before flying to India. WY, EC, Jac and Shin was there too, not to mention CL's cousin. I was really sad to see her off again, but like I told her, I'm glad Alexander Graham Bell invented a thing called the TELEPHONE!!! Because of this invention, it made me feel as if she's never gone so far away to study...

Ok, my energy level is near zero again. Time to recharge...

I'm going to TimeSquare later to see MeiChyi. Then perhaps, if she feels like it, we'll go to the movies to see Ratatouille... hehehehe ^_^

Last day at home.... :'(

I'll be leaving for KL tomorrow, which I hope I'll be staying there for a very very long time. I hate myself for running from something that I think is hard whenever it's possible....

Deciding to study nuclear science is not exactly easy when you have civil engineering in NUS as the other option. Admist all the objections from my mum, most of my friends and teachers, I made up my mind.

Not knowing exactly what to expect when I get there, I really hope that I can cope with whatever lies ahead..
